Odd Week for Me

This has been/will be an odd week for me. Today I was in a school meeting all morning so the children had a substitute. I was back in the room in the afternoon but it really seemed weird to me to jump right to my PM children. I kept wanting to follow the AM schedule...plus the time went REALLY quickly!

Tomorrow (Wed.) I have a training at the District Office all day. I really hate to be gone but I found out today that one of our old speech teachers (Mrs. McKay) is on the same committee so that should make it better. Mrs. Lemon will be our substitute. If all goes well, that is the last day this year I am planning on being gone.

We are still learning a lot each week! In Phonics we have been learning "oo" (the sounds in hook and in tooth). We are learning how a silent final "e" can jump over a consonant and make a vowel say it's name (Examples: cake, rice, tune, Pete, joke).

In math we are working on calendars, graphs, and larger numbers. We are still working on the numbers 20-30.

We had our "Core Phonics Survey" test last Friday. I haven't found out yet how the students did but I am excited to see because they are doing so well!

Have a wonderful rest of the week! Only 4 weeks of school after this week. I can't believe it is almost summer vacation.
