I am so sorry it has been so long since I've blogged! You've probably given up on me. My dad and my brother are both seriously ill with both having several visits to the hospital since the beginning of January. Even though they live in Oregon it has taken up a lot of my time, energy, and emotion once I get home. The good news is that when I am with your wonderful children I can forget all of that and give everything to my students. That is one of the best things about teaching kindergarten....they keep me laughing, hopping, and energized!
I am sure you've noticed how much your children have learned! They are terrific readers now! We've completed all of the letters and sounds in phonics and almost all of the children have finished the ERI readers and are doing "Reading for All Learners" books. If your child is still in ERI it is fine because they are learning a lot!
Mrs. Duque and I have been testing the incoming kindergarten children, which makes me realize just how close to the end of this year we are! Your little ones will soon be big kids and get to stay all day! (By the way, if you know of anyone who has children coming to kindergarten next year be sure to tell them that they need to come to the school to register and have their children tested.)
I hope all of you are planning some fun things for Spring Break (which is coming up the first week of April.)
