Spring Break

I wanted to update you on why I've been gone so much. You might have heard from your child that my brother died a few weeks ago. He was only 49 and died just three weeks after finding out he had melanoma cancer on his organs. He died on a Monday and so I took off the rest of that week, came back for a week, and then took the week before Spring Break off. My family lives in Oregon (which is where he also lived) and I already had plans to take off that week to go see them. We were sad that we did not get to see my brother before he died, but it was a good visit and a chance to also see my dad who is having major heart problems. It is nice to be back though and teaching your wonderful children. It is really hard to be sad when I have such wonderful students making me laugh. If all goes well, I don't have any plans to take anymore days off. There is only 8 more weeks of school and I know it will go quickly! Can you believe your kindergarten children are almost first graders?
