Snow and Coats

So, it seems we may be entering the snowy season. Be sure your child wears his/her warm coat every day. We often stay inside in the winter, but if we can go out we do. It is important that your child dresses appropriately to go outside.

We worked on "i" last week and now are doing "s" during phonics. We also are practicing listening to first sounds, last sounds, and middle sounds of words. We are sounding out words and practicing writing words. Your child also should be able to listen to a consonant blend (such as, sl, tr, gl, etc.) and say what the two sounds are.

In math we are learning about bigger, smaller, taller, shorter, next to, in-between, first, smallest, shortest, biggest, smallest, and heavier.

We are learning the words swirl, wavy, and relief.

Continue to have your child practice counting and recognizing numbers up to ten. He/she should also read words or appropriate books whenever possible.
