This is our fourth week coming up! It is really hard to believe. We got through that weird super-short Friday last week. It went really quickly and it was hard to get things done, but we made it!
This coming week in Phonics we will be working on the letter "h" on Monday and Tuesday and then move to the letter "t" for the rest of the week. This expands the amount of words we will be able to read and spell. By the end of the week we should be able to read and spell log, hog, hot, lot, tot, and got. We have been reading and practicing how to spell the sight words "the" and "to."
In Math we will be taking our first math test on sorting. Since I give it to only a few students at a time we will be having indoor recess and it will probably take most of the week to finish everyone. We will also be working on writing, recognizing and counting to three.
Later this week I will be sending home a schedule for SEP conferences the first week in October . Most of the grades try to coordinate their conferences so that siblings have them scheduled close together. This is difficult for kindergarten to do since we have so many to schedule and we will be doing them on Monday late afternoon starting at 2:30, Tuesday all day and Wednesday all day. On Monday, October 3rd we will be having a Friday-type schedule, on Tuesday, October 4th the whole school including kindergarten is off school, and on Wednesday, October 5th the Kindergarten will just be off. This sounds confusing as I write it but I think once you see the schedule it will be clearer. Stop by on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday of this week (Sept. 19-21) if you want to sign up for a time yourself.
Did you notice that you didn't have to log in when you came to my blog? My blog is no longer private so if there are grandparents or aunts and uncles who want to see what we are learning they should be able to go right to it. You can't find it through Google so you would need to give them the web address (URL).
I am loving this cooler weather. I hear it is suppose to be hotter as the week goes on. I hope it doesn't get too hot. My favorite season is Autumn.
