This week I have before and after school playground duty. This means I will be out of the room from about 8:40-9:00 AM and from 2:10-2:20ish all week.
This week will be a normal week but next week will be really strange. It will be SEP conferences. On Monday October 3rd we will have a "Friday" schedule, Tuesday K-6th grades will be out of school, and Wednesday only Kindergarten will be out of school. Thursday and Friday we will have our normal Thursday schedule and normal Friday schedule.
Monday October 3rd the schedule will be:
AM 9:00-11:30
PM 11:35-2:10
We will also still have this schedule for Friday.
I am sending home a schedule for conferences. Please look at it and send back the response notice by Wednesday.
Another schedule change is that our next Extra Early out is no longer going to be on October 14th but on Friday, October 28th. October 14th will be a regular Friday schedule.
Friday October 28th the schedule will be:
AM 9:00-10:55
PM 11:10-1:10
Now, to get back to this week. In Phonics we will be working on "t" and "p." In ERI Reading most students are working on "c."
In math we are studying numbers 0-5. Your child needs to be able to count objects, recognize and write the numerals. At home have your child do a lot of counting of objects.
Last week we illustrated and practiced the book "A Hot Hog." Your child should read it three times. He/she can read it three times to one adult or to three different adults. This week we are working on "A Mom and a Tot." When we finish your child will bring it home and should read it three times to an adult also. Hopefully, we will begin "writing" the book "A Fat Cat" the next week but because it is a weird schedule we may or may not finish by the end of the week.
I hope all of this confusion makes sense! Have a happy week!
